Actress Gong Hyo-jin returns with a cold charisma.

tvN's new weekend drama When The Stars Gossip (written by Seo Sook-hyang, directed by Park Shin-woo) premieres on December 4 at 9:20 PM. It is Korea's first "space office" series.

The drama depicts life outside Earth, focusing on Eve Kim (played by Gong Hyo-jin), the boss of a zero-gravity space station, and a mysterious intruder named Gong Ryong (played by Lee Min-ho) on a secret mission.

Gong Hyo-jin takes on the role of Commander Eve Kim, marking her first drama in six years. She shared, "I was drawn to the freshness of a drama set in space" as her reason for joining the project.

She added, "I always played the youngest roles in Seo Sook-hyang's scripts. This time, I loved the novelty of being the Captain. The familiar trust in both the writer and the director played a big part in my decision."

Eve is a stark contrast to the characters Gong Hyo-jin has portrayed so far. She explained, "Eve has no interest or affection for people but is fascinated by experimental life forms. I worked hard to maintain her strict and upright demeanor as a commander."

Known for her unique styling that enhances her characters, Gong revealed that Eve Kim's wardrobe is centered around space uniforms, reflecting her professional role.

"As a space scientist, the focus was on charismatic outfits," she explained. "Rather than trendy items, I chose timeless, cool combinations."

Gong also highlighted some key points to look out for. "Every scene is based on a zero-gravity setting, requiring a lot of thought and passion. Since it's a space I've never experienced, it felt like diving headfirst into the unknown for every detail."

Finally, she clarified, "This is not a story about space wars or monsters, but about life in space. Please watch to see what sacrifices space scientists make for humanity's sake."
