To mark the release of their new Japanese full-length album, Stray Kids are launching massive promotional activities in Japan, highlighting their overwhelming popularity in the region.
On November 13, Stray Kids released their second Japanese full album GIANT, along with the title track of the same name.
The album GIANT comes approximately 1 year and 9 months after their first Japanese full album THE SOUND, which was released in February 2022, and has already garnered substantial attention. As of November 12, the album ranked No. 1 on Oricon's Daily Album Chart.
This new release features 10 tracks, including the title track GIANT, a Japanese version of Chk Chk Boom from their mini-album ATE, the theme song NIGHT from the second season of the TV anime Tower of God, both Japanese and English versions of Falling Up, WHY?, an OST for Fuji TV's Thursday drama Re- At the End of Desire, as well as new songs like Saiyan and 愛をくれたのに、なぜ (Why Did You Give Me Love?). The album also includes Christmas Love, their first-ever original Christmas song for the Japanese market.
The title track GIANT was produced in part by Stray Kids' in-house production team 3RACHA, consisting of members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, and encapsulates the group's grand and powerful charm.
In celebration of their second Japanese full album release, Stray Kids have collaborated with several prominent Japanese brands, proving their immense popularity. From November 1 to December 1, Suntory launched a limited-edition canned beverage, while Osaka's HEP FIVE hosted a special exhibition from November 8 to December 1.
From November 8 to December 27, Stray Kids fans can experience exclusive voice content on JR Tokai's Shinkansen trains, with advertisements displayed at major stations in cities like Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. Tokyo Dome City has organized various events from November 11 to 17, including a ferris wheel wrapped with Stray Kids visuals and an illuminated tree decorated with their music.
A pop-up store will run at Shibuya Tsutaya from November 12 to 19, and a promotional campaign will be held at NewDays convenience stores in Tokyo from November 13 to 18.
Spotify is also hosting a pop-up event, GIANT PARK, at Miyashita Park in Shibuya from November 13 to 19. Fans across Japan can experience the Stray Kids album release through collaborations in multiple industries, from beverages to landmarks, transportation, performance venues, bookstores, convenience stores, and music streaming platforms, feeling the intense popularity of the group.
Since their official debut in Japan in March 2020, Stray Kids have topped major Japanese charts such as Oricon, Tower Records, and Billboard Japan with numerous releases, including their first EP album Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl -Japanese ver.- in September 2023. They became the first fourth-generation K-pop boy group to perform in Japan's top four dome venues through their successful 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023, showcasing their extraordinary popularity.
Having opened their latest world tour dominATE at Seoul's KSPO Dome this August, Stray Kids recently held solo concerts at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, Sydney's Allianz Stadium, and Kaohsiung National Stadium, captivating large crowds.
In October 2023, Stray Kids proved their immense popularity by hosting a solo concert at Tokyo Dome as part of their Stray Kids 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023. They are set to return to Tokyo Dome on November 14, 16, and 17, reuniting with their enthusiastic fans just one year later.
The tour will continue in Manila, Philippines on November 23; Macau on November 29 and 30; Osaka, Japan on December 5, 7, and 8; Bangkok, Thailand on December 14; Jakarta, Indonesia on December 21; and Hong Kong on January 18 and 19, 2025, carrying on the momentum of their world tour.
