Actor Lee Jong-suk will step into the role of a law firm lawyer.
On the 5th, Ace Factory announced, "Lee Jong-suk has confirmed his next project. He will portray the realistic life of associate lawyers in the upcoming tvN drama 'Seocho-dong'."
‘Seocho-dong’ is a courtroom office drama set in Seoul’s legal district, where 'working-class' lawyers handle cases daily, growing professionally and personally along the way.
Lee Jong-suk will play the role of Ahn Joo-hyung, a 9-year veteran lawyer. Rather than focusing on protecting the vulnerable or pursuing justice, he finds interest in the logical aspects of cases, which is what initially led him to the profession.
Joo-hyung has been with the same firm for nine years, excelling in his work and setting new records for his salary. However, cracks begin to appear in his otherwise stable workplace life.
This role marks a departure from his previous portrayal of a spectacular lawyer in ‘Big Mouth,’ bringing him closer to reality as an office-bound, 'everyday' lawyer.
Director Park Seung-woo, who previously worked with Lee Jong-suk on the 2016 MBC drama *W*, which won him a Grand Prize, will helm the drama. The script is penned by Lee Seung-hyun, who is a practicing lawyer, promising diverse episodes and a story rich with realistic elements.
‘Seocho-dong’ is slated for a tvN release in the first half of next year.
