Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin is once again entering a legal dispute with HYBE, seeking to be reinstated as CEO.
On October 11, the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (presiding judge Kim Sang-hoon) held a hearing on the provisional injunction filed by Min Hee-jin against HYBE regarding voting rights.
Min Hee-jin was dismissed from her position by the ADOR board of directors on August 27. Following this decision, internal director Kim Joo-young was appointed as the new CEO.
This move was made based on the label's operational principles, which focused on separating production from management. However, Min Hee-jin retained her position as an internal director and continued to oversee the production of NewJeans.
Min Hee-jin opposed this decision, arguing that her dismissal violated shareholder agreements and the previously granted provisional injunction on voting rights. She subsequently filed a related lawsuit.
NewJeans also showed support. On September 11, the group held a live broadcast on YouTube, calling for Min Hee-jin to be reinstated as CEO of ADOR.
In May, the court had ruled in favor of Min Hee-jin's injunction prohibiting HYBE from exercising voting rights, stating that while efforts to establish ADOR's independent governance were sought, they had not reached the execution stage.
