BTS's RM's documentary film was screened at the Busan International Film Festival.
BTS RM's documentary film "RM: Right People, Wrong Place" was premiered at the Busan International Film Festival on October 7, at the outdoor theater of Busan Cinema Center.
The production team attended on behalf of RM, who is currently serving in the military. Director Lee Seok-joon described the film as a candid portrayal of RM's emotions during the eight months of creating his album.
He added, "The film is a deep inner record of RM's emotional journey during the eight months of album production. It also reflects feelings that many people have experienced at least once in their lives."
Co-director Im Soo-bin shared that the documentary was made with deep affection, hoping the audience could connect with the emotions expressed.
Sanyan, the album's producer and participant, said, "The documentary captures the friendships not only within Team RM but also among the musicians and staff. It's especially meaningful for me to present this in my hometown, Busan."
Lastly, Jang Se-hoon, the album's A&R manager, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am deeply thankful to be able to reflect on RM's journey with everyone. I just wanted to say congratulations."
Despite the rainy weather, the audience stayed at the outdoor theater, fully immersed in the film. They connected deeply with RM's album preparation process and the personal emotions he experienced, both as a member of BTS and as Kim Nam-jun, the individual behind the artist.
"RM: Right People, Wrong Place" is a music documentary that chronicles the making of RM's second solo album, "Right People, Wrong Place," which was released in May. The film captures RM's creative process and personal reflections during the production of the album.
The documentary "RM: Right People, Wrong Place" was officially invited to the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival. This marked the first time a K-pop documentary film was screened at a large outdoor venue during the festival.
The Busan International Film Festival praised "RM: Right People, Wrong Place" as a story about the end of RM's 20s, featuring the genuine voice of Kim Nam-jun as a natural individual, not just a public figure.
Meanwhile, "RM: Right People, Wrong Place" is scheduled for a theatrical release, though the exact date has yet to be determined.
