UNIS is back with a bold and unpredictable vibe. The Gen Z icons-in-the-making revealed their 2nd mini album SWICY at a showcase held on April 15 at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul.
💿 What's 'SWICY'? Sweet + Spicy = 100% UNIS
The album title is a mix of "sweet" and "spicy." Seo Won explained, "We're sweet in our everyday lives, but bring the heat on stage. This album expresses that duality."
With honest lyrics and bold performances, UNIS showcases a more confident and daring version of themselves.
Their debut album SUPERWOMAN highlighted Gen Z kitsch. Then came You Don't Even Know, filled with candid charm. Now, SWICY blends cuteness with sass for a fresh new flavor.
🔥 From 'Universe Ticket' to full-on performers
UNIS was formed through the fierce competition on SBS's audition show Universe Ticket. Hyun Joo recalled, "We may look sweet on the outside, but our journey has definitely been spicy. That's why 'SWICY' suits us perfectly."

At the showcase, they performed both title track 'SWICY' and b-side 'DDANG!'.
The members bounced and flew across the stage, delivering a playful and energetic performance. "The key point is the fork-stabbing motion and a magical dance move," said Nana. "Every part is a killing part."
In contrast, 'DDANG!' showcased their cool vocals over a groovy band sound. Lyrics like "I'll dance to your nagging" added a cheeky, youthful twist.
🌟 Onward to bigger dreams and global stages
UNIS recently celebrated their 1st debut anniversary and continues their step-by-step growth. Their previous release Curious hit No.1 on iTunes charts in 5 countries, with over 60,000 albums sold in first-week sales.
"This past year was unforgettable," Hyun Joo shared. "We received so much love and ended the year with great results. We want to become a group that's loved even more."
Yoon Ha boldly declared, "I really want to win No.1 on every music show. That's been my goal since last year—and I hope this promotion finally makes it come true."
🌏 1st Asia Tour incoming
This summer, UNIS will kick off their first Asia tour. Starting in Korea, they'll head to the Philippines, Japan, and more—spreading their signature SWICY flavor.
"We still can't believe we're going on tour," Hyun Joo said. "I want to meet our fans face-to-face and really feel how much love we're getting from around the world."
Jellydankha added, "This album is a recipe filled with our love. I hope our Asian fans enjoy it and we get to make tons of memories together."
