Seo Ye-ji takes the stage on SNL Korea — and directly addresses past controversies with bold comedy 💥🎭
Actress Seo Ye-ji made her headline-making appearance as host of SNL Korea Season 7, released on April 12 via Coupang Play — and wasted no time diving into her own past scandals.
In her opening, she joked:
"I'm going to gaslight the SNL crew into having fun with me,"
prompting MC Shin Dong-yup to quip:
"Right, gaslighting is Seo Ye-ji's hobby and specialty. Who wants in?"
The crew raised their hands, leaning into the bit with full force 🤯👏
During the "Eve's Salon" skit, Seo played a hair salon director massaging comedian Kim Won-hoon's scalp. When he commented, "Your neck is stiff," she quickly corrected him with "No, it's firm," — parodying her infamous text exchange with ex-boyfriend Kim Jung-hyun, where she told him to avoid physical contact during filming and called him "Kim-ddak-ddak" (a nickname implying stiffness).
The reference pointed straight back to the 2021 controversy, when Kim Jung-hyun refused skinship scenes on set, later revealed to be allegedly under Seo's influence — sparking massive "gaslighting" allegations at the time 🗞️💬
In another skit titled "Seo Ye-GPT," she portrayed an AI version of herself, getting vulnerable through humor:
"The most shameful thing is sitting there silently, swallowing everything. You have no idea how unfair that feels… I've been through it too."
Seo's appearance comes after years of public scrutiny, including a now-debunked love triangle rumor involving actor Kim Soo-hyun and his cousin. At the time, she shut down the speculation, saying:
"I have zero connection with him or his cousin. I'm a person too — this is overwhelming, exhausting, suffocating. I keep enduring and enduring. But please… enough."
With fearless satire and self-awareness, Seo Ye-ji made it clear: she's rewriting the narrative — on her own terms. 🎤🖤
