IVE's Gaeul explodes with anger over the "Trunk Murder Case" on SBS's 'Unanswered Questions'

The latest episode of "꼬리에 꼬리를 무는 그날 이야기" (aka "The Day We Chained The Stories") was straight-up terrifying—like true crime meets psychological horror, and it's all real.

The case? The 2015 Trunk Murder Case—a white SUV found burning in a Seoul parking lot… with a woman's mutilated body inside. The killer? A 22-time ex-con named Kim Il-gon, whose idea of "revenge" turned into a calculated, cold-blooded crime spree.

And yes, Gaeul of IVE was one of the storytellers this week—and her reaction? All of us.
🔥 "I'm so angry."
😢 "It's just not fair."
💬 "The victim is suffering with trauma, and he's still blaming everyone else."

Kim Il-gon claimed his murder was justified revenge—because of a ₩500,000 fine (less than $400). After getting into a traffic fight with a man named Sung-jun, Kim got fined… and decided to literally create a kill list. TWENTY. EIGHT. NAMES. Including police, judges, and even local government workers.

He stalked his targets. He studied them. He wrote their personal details down. When caught, he had 2 knives and the list in his pocket.
And when cameras caught him smiling while his victim's body burned? The internet collectively gasped. 🥶🕯️

Profiler Kwon Il-yong called him a rugby ball psychopathic type—erratic, explosive, unpredictable.
He wasn't just dangerous. He was ready to keep going.
And yet in court, Kim spent 90 minutes saying he was the victim.

"I've lived unfairly."
"The law is never on my side."
"This is for the dead."

No remorse. No reality check. Just endless justification.
Thankfully, he got a life sentence. But the trauma? Still echoing.

🎙️ Actress Park Kyung-hye said she "couldn't get the image out of her head."
🕊️ Actor Lim Ju-hwan pointed out how society needs stronger systems to stop second crimes before they start.
💔 And Gaeul? She voiced what we're all feeling: "This should NEVER happen again."

SNS reactions were instant:
🧊 "Felt like watching a horror film. Absolutely chilling."
💢 "The audacity to say he was wronged? Infuriating."
🔍 "We seriously need to talk about how much info criminals can access. That hit hard."

This episode was more than shocking—it was a wake-up call.
Catch "꼬꼬무" every Thursday at 10:20PM KST on SBS for real stories that dig deep—and haunt you after.
