A woman in her 30s who threatened and defamed actress Han Ji-min online has been forwarded to prosecutors without detention, according to the Gangnam Police Department on March 28.

📝 19 Posts of Threats and Defamation

The suspect, referred to as A, allegedly posted 19 malicious messages targeting Han Ji-min on her personal social media between September and October 2024.

Posts included threats such as:

"I'll sabotage any movie Han Ji-min appears in,"
along with 11 counts of defamation and 8 counts of threats.

💼 BH Entertainment Took Swift Legal Action

Han Ji-min's agency, BH Entertainment, filed an official complaint in November 2024, stating:

"We confirmed a continuous pattern of malicious slander, personal attacks, and the spread of unfounded rumors."

They made it clear from the start: "There will be no settlement or leniency."

🌐 Identity Traced Through Global Cooperation

The suspect attempted to hide behind anonymity on an overseas social media platform, but Korean authorities were able to identify her with help from a U.S.-based social media company.

This case highlights the power of international cyber cooperation when it comes to cracking down on cross-border online abuse.
