IU once again proves she's a true queen of kindness. 👑
On March 26, singer-actress IU made a generous donation of 200 million KRW (approx. $150,000) to help support wildfire victims and frontline firefighters in South Korea.
According to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, IU split the donation evenly — 100 million KRW for affected residents and 100 million KRW to improve conditions and awareness for firefighters working on the front lines.
🔥 Standing with the Victims and Heroes
IU expressed her heartfelt concern:
"I hope this can be a small help to those affected. I send my deepest condolences to the victims. I truly wish the wildfires are extinguished without any more harm."
She also made sure to recognize the tireless efforts of firefighters:
"I am deeply grateful to the firefighters risking their lives to contain the blaze."
Hope Bridge officials commented, "IU's donation reflects her care for the community and appreciation for those working behind the scenes. We'll ensure the support reaches those in need as quickly as possible."
💖 A Longtime Philanthropist
IU has long been known for her charitable impact. In 2020, she donated to flood recovery efforts. In 2022, she helped support wildfire recovery on the East Coast. Just last year, she donated over 800 million KRW across various causes — from hospitals to rare disease organizations.
🎬 Meanwhile, IU recently starred in the Netflix drama When Life Gives You Tangerines, where she played Ae-soon opposite Park Bo-gum (Gwan-sik), receiving praise for her powerful acting.
