Actress Won Ji-an has been cast as Park Seo-jun's first love in the upcoming JTBC romantic comedyWaiting for GYEONGDO.
A Complicated Love Story
On February 18, Huin Entertainment confirmed, "Won Ji-an has been cast in the new JTBC drama 'Waiting for GYEONGDO' (written by Yoo Young-ah, directed by Im Hyun-wook). She will play the role of Park Seo-jun's first love."
The drama tells the story of a couple who dated twice in their 20s but eventually parted ways. Years later, they find themselves entangled again due to a scandalous tabloid article about an alleged affair.
Won Ji-an as Seo Ji-woo
Won Ji-an takes on the role of Seo Ji-woo, the first love of Lee Kyung-do (played by Park Seo-jun). Ji-woo is the daughter of Jalim Apparel's CEO, known for her stunning beauty and bold personality.
However, her seemingly glamorous life is far from perfect. She struggles with her husband's misconduct, and just when things couldn't get worse, a scandal surfaces—one that falsely links her to her ex-boyfriend Lee Kyung-do, the journalist behind the article. This ultimately leads to her divorce.
A Reunion of Love and Heartache
One of the drama's highlights will be the chemistry between Won Ji-an and Park Seo-jun. Their characters fall deeply in love as young, passionate lovers, experience a painful breakup, and reunite under unexpected circumstances.
Star-Studded Production Team
The drama boasts an impressive production team. Director Im Hyun-wook, who helmed King the Land, takes charge of the series. Writer Yoo Young-ah, known for Thirty-Nine and Divorce Attorney Shin, penned the script.
What to Expect
A drama representative shared, "Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo bring out each other's youthful past when they are together. Viewers can expect a mix of relatable emotions, laughter, and heartfelt moments throughout the story."
Meanwhile, the exact premiere date for Waiting for GYEONGDO has yet to be announced, but it is scheduled to air on JTBC.
