EXO's Xiumin and Choo So-jung are set to lead an exciting new fantasy romance drama.
On February 18, Whynot Media announced the casting lineup for its upcoming drama 'Heo's Diner', with Xiumin, Choo So-jung, Lee Se-on, and Lee Soo-min confirmed as the main cast.
A Time-Slip Romance with a Twist
'Heo's Diner' is a time-slip romantic comedy, adapted from a popular web novel. The story follows a man from the Joseon Dynasty who unexpectedly travels 400 years into the future and ends up running a restaurant in modern-day Korea.
Xiumin takes on the role of Heo Gyun, a self-proclaimed genius and Joseon's first-ever food critic. Falsely accused of treason, he attempts to escape exile—only to time-slip into the present.
Meanwhile, Choo So-jung plays Bong Eun-sil, the daughter of a humble Korean diner owner. She shares a comedic love-hate dynamic with Heo Gyun, who suddenly appears in front of her dressed like a homeless man.
A Dual-Role Challenge for the Cast
- Lee Se-on plays both Lee I-cheom and Lee Hyuk, portraying a goal-driven historical figure and a young master chef in modern times.
- Lee Soo-min takes on the roles of Maechang and Jung Mi-sol, seamlessly shifting between historical and contemporary eras.
A Drama That Mixes Food, Fantasy, and Love
The production team shared their excitement:
"We're thrilled to work with four uniquely talented actors. Heo Gyun's unexpected time-slip will unfold in an exciting and dynamic way."
They also teased an engaging storyline filled with deep character backstories and mouthwatering culinary scenes, encouraging fans to look forward to both romance and delicious visuals.
Premiere Date & Broadcast Schedule
'Heo's Diner' will premiere on March 24 on Netflix, airing one episode every Monday and Tuesday at 5 PM KST.
