Director Bong Joon-ho is finally unveiling his highly anticipated new film Mickey 17. The film will be released in Korea first, ahead of its global premiere.

On January 10, the Mickey 17 team confirmed the Korean release date. The film will premiere on February 27, making it the world's first release. This fulfills Bong's promise to prioritize Korean audiences.

The global release is scheduled for March 7. Mickey 17 has previously seen multiple changes to its release date. Initially set for March last year, the date was pushed back due to the Writers Guild of America strike, among other factors.

Actor Robert Pattinson, who plays Mickey, will visit Korea for the first time on January 20. Despite his busy schedule with his next project, Pattinson reportedly insisted on visiting Bong's home country.

Bong Joon-ho and Robert Pattinson will attend a footage screening event for Mickey 17 and meet with Korean press at a press conference. They will also participate in stage greetings and meet fans directly.

Mickey 17 is a sci-fi film about an expendable worker, Mickey, who is reprinted after each death. The story takes a twist when Mickey faces his 17th death, only to discover that Mickey 18 has already been printed.

Robert Pattinson takes on the role of Mickey, portraying a character who endures a job that requires him to die and be reprinted repeatedly. He plays two contrasting versions of Mickey, taking on a dual role.
