"You Quiz" enjoyed a boost from the "Song Hye-kyo effect," breaking its highest-ever target audience ratings record.
tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" (hereafter "You Quiz") aired its New Year's special episode on the 8th, featuring actress Song Hye-kyo and members of the Antarctic King Sejong Station overwintering research team.
Song Hye-kyo's appearance was a major draw. It marked her first talk show appearance in 23 years. As a result, "You Quiz" recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 5.6% (Nielsen Korea), securing the top spot in its time slot.
In particular, the target audience ratings reached an all-time high. The show recorded the highest ratings among the 20-40 age demographic for the entire past year, with ratings of 3.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 3.0% nationwide.
A variety of engaging conversations captivated viewers at home. Song Hye-kyo looked back on her 28-year career as a top star since her debut.
She also opened up about her feelings and struggles as an actress, a woman, and a human being. She discussed the pain caused by false rumors and shared her experience of self-reflection after being advised to do so by screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung.
