Actors Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won are set to deliver a powerful acting collaboration, with their first duo shot revealed.
On January 7, Disney+ announced its 2025 original content lineup, including a sneak peek at 'Tempest.' The platform released stills and a teaser trailer for the series.
In the teaser, Jun Ji-hyun is seen making a confession, while Kang Dong-won is armed and infiltrating a location. Hollywood actor John Cho appears, standing solemnly in front of the U.S. flag.
The chemistry between Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won stands out in the trailer. Kang Dong-won declares, "I'll take responsibility for her," while loading his gun with a determined expression.
The two stand together in front of a moving train, with Kang Dong-won protecting Jun Ji-hyun. Jun Ji-hyun asks, "Do you understand that I'm the boss? Can you follow my orders without question?"
'Tempest' (written by Jung Seo-kyung, directed by Kim Hee-won and Heo Myeong-haeng) follows the story of Moon Ju (played by Jun Ji-hyun), a diplomat, and San-ho (played by Kang Dong-won), a special agent, as they uncover the truth behind a massive conspiracy.
Jun Ji-hyun plays Moon Ju, a former UN ambassador with strong international credibility. She teams up with San-ho to solve a major case.
Kang Dong-won takes on the role of San-ho, a mysterious figure and former top mercenary. His nationality and past remain shrouded in mystery.
Kim Hae-sook will portray Chae Kyung-shin, the President of South Korea, while John Cho will make his Korean series debut as a U.S. State Department official.
Director Kim Hee-won, known for 'The Queen of Tears,''Little Women,' and 'Vincenzo,' leads the project. The script is written by Jung Seo-kyung, known for 'Mother' and 'Little Women.'
