RISE will reinterpret a classic TVXQ track.
The group is set to release a remake of 'Hug' on January 8 at 6 PM KST. The track will be available on Melon, Flo, Genie, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, QQ Music, and Kugou Music.
SM Entertainment stated, "RISE has prepared a New Year's gift for fans around the world. They've reinterpreted a legendary K-pop song with their unique top-tier style."
Originally released in 2004, 'Hug' is TVXQ's debut song. The remake was arranged by Park Moonchi, delivering a fresh sentiment distinct from the original. The new version features Y2K vibes and a trendy sound, bringing a nostalgic yet modern newtro mood.
On January 7, RISE unveiled a stage video teaser for 'Hug' on their official website. The teaser showcased the members' smooth a cappella harmonies, captivating listeners with their refreshing vocals and raising anticipation for the release.
Other tracks from RISE will be unveiled for the first time during the 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025' concert, scheduled for January 11-12 at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome.
