Actress Demi Moore took home her first-ever Golden Globe for Best Actress.

At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards held on January 6 (KST) at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Moore won Best Actress in the Musical or Comedy category for her role in the film "Substance." With this win at the Golden Globes — a key indicator for the Oscars — Moore is now one step closer to an Academy Award nomination.

In her acceptance speech, Moore reflected on her journey, saying, "This is my first acting award in 45 years. Thirty years ago, a producer once called me a popcorn actress, saying awards like this were not for me. I believed I could make movies that made money, but never thought I could be recognized."

She continued, "One day, I came across a crazy script, and that was 'Substance.' I'm deeply grateful to director Coralie Fargeat for letting me play this woman."

Moore then delivered a powerful message: "At times, I've felt I wasn't smart enough, pretty enough, thin enough, or successful enough. But someone once told me that if we let go of other people's standards, we'll find our own worth. I see today's award as a reminder that I belong in this industry and that I'm doing what I love."

She also described her return to the awards race with "Substance" as "the cherry on top," adding, "I'm 62 years old, and I hope my efforts to become the best version of myself will help pave the way for change for all women. I hope we can all recognize our worth and understand that at any stage in life, we are all valuable."

Moore emphasized, "The key message of 'Substance' is that there's no one better than you."
