GFRIEND Reflects on Their 10-Year Journey
GFRIEND has looked back on the past decade. On January 6, they pre-released the title track "In Our Tender Season" at noon. The full special album "Season of Memories" will be officially released on January 13 at 6 PM.
On January 5, the group performed the song for the first time at the 39th Golden Disc Awards held at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan.
"In Our Tender Season" is a track that celebrates GFRIEND's 10th anniversary by reflecting on their journey as a group. The song carries a heartfelt message, stating that the seasons they spent together and the songs they sang will remain in everyone's memories.
With lyrics like "We met again after going through time," and "In the season that we carved together, we will be forever together," the song leaves a lasting emotional impression.
The track showcases GFRIEND's signature sentimental style, combining a heartwarming melody with dynamic progression and beautifully poetic Korean lyrics. The album was produced by Source Music, the company that has been with the members since their debut and witnessed their growth over the years.
Producers No Joo-hwan and Lee Won-jong, who previously worked with the group on tracks like "Time for the Moon Night" and "Sunrise," have reunited for this project. They were joined by Shintaro Yasuda, a producer known for his work on Ariana Grande's albums, adding a fresh twist to the sound.
On the same day, GFRIEND shared a mood film on HYBE Labels' YouTube channel, featuring highlights of the track and behind-the-scenes footage from their first concert photoshoot. The mood film drew attention with the members' unchanged, innocent charm, evoking nostalgia among fans.
The second set of concept photos was also revealed, showing the members walking between train cars, symbolizing their journey toward one another. The photos conclude with a touching scene of all six members finally standing together, creating an emotional moment for fans.
Meanwhile, GFRIEND will release the music video teaser for "In Our Tender Season" on January 13. They will also hold a solo concert from January 17 to 19 at Olympic Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park.
