The girl group NewJeans is set to appear on Kim Hyun-jung's News Show.
On the 24th, at the end of CBS's Kim Hyun-jung's News Show, host Kim Hyun-jung announced the lineup for the upcoming episode on the 25th.
Kim Hyun-jung shared, "Tomorrow, we've prepared a Christmas special. In the first segment, we'll deliver the news as usual. In the second segment, even if just for an hour, we want to bring you comfort and peace." She then mentioned "five angels" and a "world-renowned girl group."
She revealed, "We've invited Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein," and added, "It'll be a special segment with comfort, peace, stories, live performances, and music for everyone."
Currently, the NewJeans members are in a conflict with their agency, ADOR, regarding their exclusive contracts. As they continue their individual activities, they have been using their real names instead of the group name "NewJeans." Accordingly, Kim Hyun-jung also referred to the members by their real names when announcing their appearance.
Last month, NewJeans delivered an ultimatum to ADOR and HYBE, subsequently holding an emergency press conference to declare the termination of their exclusive contracts. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the contracts.
Despite this legal dispute, the NewJeans members have been pursuing independent activities outside of their pre-scheduled engagements with ADOR. Recently, they launched the "jeanzforfree" account and have been actively engaging with fans.
Amid these developments, visa issues concerning foreign members Hanni and Danielle have surfaced. After claiming their exclusive contracts with ADOR ended at midnight on November 29, the members are now at risk of losing their visas issued through ADOR. For E-6 visas, a workplace change must be reported within 15 days, but the holders can remain in the country for 30 days to apply for a visa status change.
Recently, ADOR emphasized their stance that the contracts remain valid, stating, "We are preparing documents to extend the visas in accordance with procedures."
Attention is now focused on whether the NewJeans members will address this issue during their appearance on Kim Hyun-jung's News Show.
