BTS Members' Solo Tracks Selected as Best Songs of the Year Overseas

The U.S. music media outlet 'Consequence' announced its "2024 K-pop Yearbook" on the 17th, highlighting Jimin's second solo album 'Muse'.

The title track 'Who' was selected as the "Biggest Impact." The outlet emphasized, "Listing Jimin's achievements would take all day."

They also listed his achievements, stating, "It became the most-streamed K-pop song on Spotify this year. Jimin's work has created a significant ripple effect."

Furthermore, it noted, "Among Korean artist songs released in the past decade, it has charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for the longest period," pointing out its impressive 20 consecutive weeks on the chart.

RM, a member of BTS, had two tracks from his second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person' featured on '200 Best Songs of 2024.'

The tracks 'Domodachi' (feat. Little Simz) and 'Never Play' (feat. RM)—a collaboration with rapper Megan Thee Stallion—were ranked 82nd and 115th, respectively.

Consequence introduced 'Domodachi' by stating, "When Little Simz says 'Simz and RM, it doesn't get better than this,' it's absolutely no lie."

'Never Play' also received praise: "Megan Thee Stallion and RM showcased what they do best, delivering seamless and engaging performances."

Additionally, RM's track 'Come Back To Me' was selected as one of 'The Best Songs of 2024' by U.S. entertainment outlet Uproxx. The outlet highlighted the album's theme of right and wrong, describing the song as "an impressive and diverse piece that easily justifies its six-minute runtime."

Meanwhile, British media outlet Dazed included RM's track 'Groin' in its 'The 50 Best K-pop Tracks of 2024.' Dazed commented on the music video, stating, "It reveals how easily a celebrity's image can be distorted. RM declares, 'I represent only myself.'"

Jin's solo album 'Happy' earned recognition as one of the "50 Best K-pop Tracks of 2024" by British outlet Dazed. The track 'Another Level' was highlighted for Jin's vocal strength.

Dazed commented, "Jin's vocals are delicate yet powerful. While he often brings light and comfort to people, this track radiates strong energy."

Additionally, Jin's 'Happy' was selected as one of Billboard's "The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2024: Staff Picks."

Meanwhile, RM's 'Right Place, Wrong Person' continues to receive accolades globally. The album was previously named one of the Best Albums of 2024 by Billboard, Rolling Stone, and NME, reaffirming RM's exceptional artistry.
