TWS Becomes the Only Boy Group on YouTube's Top Songs List in Korea

On December 12, YouTube released its 2024 Global Culture and Trends List, where rookie boy group TWS made a significant impact. Their debut track, "Plot Twist", ranked No. 6 on Korea's Top Songs and No. 4 on the Top Shorts Songscharts.

The rankings are based on songs released this year or those with notable growth in popularity compared to the previous year. Metrics include official music videos, lyric videos, and art tracks viewed in Korea.

TWS is the only boy group featured in the Top Songs lineup, which is otherwise dominated by female artists. The other nine songs include hits such as QWER's "Addicted to Thinking", aespa's "Supernova", and tracks by celebrated artists like IVE, IU, NewJeans, and (G)I-DLE.

This achievement is particularly impressive as TWS debuted in January 2024, making their mark as newcomers. Their meteoric rise is evidenced by their ability to stand out among prominent female artists dominating the charts.

International media has also taken notice of TWS. British music magazine NME listed "Plot Twist" among its 25 Best K-pop Songs of the Year, while Billboard ranked the track No. 5 on its 25 Best K-pop Songs of 2024: Staff Picks.

NME praised the song as "a thrilling yet authentic debut track that evokes the bright and vibrant nostalgia of classic K-pop boy groups," adding that its "irresistible charm is undeniable."
