Actor Lee Jong-suk will star opposite Shin Min-a as a married couple in 'The Remarried Empress.'
On December 10, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Lee Jong-suk will take on the role of the male protagonist, a prince of the Western Kingdom, in the new drama 'The Remarried Empress.'
Based on a popular romance fantasy web novel of the same name, 'The Remarried Empress' has also been serialized as a webtoon. The story follows Navier, the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, who chooses to divorce her emperor husband after he decides to make his mistress the new empress. Determined to reclaim her position, she resolves to become an empress elsewhere.
Lee Jong-suk will portray Heinrey Alles Lazlo, a prince and heir to the throne of the Western Kingdom, which rivals the Eastern Empire in economic and military strength. Heinrey falls for Navier, ascends to the throne, and marries her, creating a powerful alliance.
Actress Shin Min-a has been confirmed to play the role of Navier, heightening anticipation for their on-screen chemistry as a couple.
In addition to 'The Remarried Empress,' Lee Jong-suk has also been cast in tvN's upcoming legal drama 'Seocho-dong,' slated for 2025. 'Seocho-dong' is a law-office drama set in a building housing multiple law firms, focusing on the lives and aspirations of associate lawyers. Lee Jong-suk will play Ahn Joo-hyung, a seasoned associate lawyer of nine years, showcasing a calm and intelligent portrayal of a realistic lawyer.
