NewJeans to Perform as Special Guest for YOASOBI's Asia Tour Amid Contract Dispute
NewJeans has been confirmed as a special guest for the YOASOBI Asia Tour 2024-2025: Cho-genjitsu, despite their ongoing contract dispute with their agency, ADOR. The announcement was made by live entertainment brand LIVET on November 21.
YOASOBI's Korea concert will feature unique collaborations with K-pop artists, aiming to create an exciting synergy. NewJeans will take the stage on Saturday, December 7, while AKMU will perform on Sunday, December 8. The collaboration between leading artists from Korea and Japan is generating high anticipation among fans.
YOASOBI, the global sensation behind the opening song Idol (アイドル) from the anime Oshi no Ko, has achieved unprecedented success as the first Japanese artist to reach a "billion hit." The duo continues to set unparalleled career highs in the J-pop industry.
Meanwhile, NewJeans has issued a formal notice to their agency, ADOR, on November 15, detailing six demands and warning of contract termination if the agency fails to comply within 14 days. ADOR responded by stating, "We will do our best to resolve this wisely and maintain our relationship with the artists."
Amidst this, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, who has been involved in disputes with HYBE, recently resigned from her position as a board director. She has also filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court over the exercise of her put option.
