Actor Byeon Wooseok's Rising Value: Over 100 Billion KRW in Ad Revenue After 'Lovely Runner'

Actor Byeon Wooseok's popularity and value continue to soar. On November 21, OSEN reported that Byeon earned over 100 billion KRW ($75 million USD) in advertising revenue following the success of the tvN hit drama "Lovely Runner". This level of revenue ranks him among the top stars in Korea.

At the start of Lovely Runner, Byeon's annual ad fees were below 400 million KRW. However, the drama's explosive popularity propelled him into stardom, with his current ad rates reportedly reaching as high as 1-1.5 billion KRW per contract—nearly triple his previous rates. Even with conservative estimates, Byeon's ad revenue has exceeded 100 billion KRW.

After Lovely Runner, Byeon became the face of 19 brands spanning finance, electronics, cosmetics, furniture, and cafes. Notably, KyoChon Chicken, which revived its star marketing strategy after nine years, selected Byeon, underscoring his significant influence.

Concerns briefly arose about potential damage to his image in the ad industry following a controversy over excessive security during his departure for an overseas fan meeting. However, it appears to have had no lasting impact.

Byeon's skyrocketing fame has also fueled speculation about his fees for future projects. Industry insiders predict his appearance fees could reach 100 million KRW or more per episode, considering his domestic and international appeal. A production company representative remarked, "He's poised to join the ranks of actors earning billions per project."

Born in 1991, Byeon Wooseok debuted as a fashion model before transitioning to acting in 2016. He has appeared in dramas such as Dear My Friends, Record of Youth, 20th Century Girl, and Strong Girl Nam-soon. With the success of Lovely Runner, all eyes are now on his next project.
