Go Min-si Donates 50 Million KRW to Support Elderly and Vulnerable Groups

Actress Go Min-si Makes Generous Donation to Support Vulnerable Groups

The international development NGO G Foundation announced on November 20 that actress Go Min-si donated 50 million KRW to support elderly individuals living alone and vulnerable communities during the winter.

The funds will be used to provide essential living, medical, and housing support to ensure stable lives for senior citizens living alone. This includes assistance with rent, utility bills, and heating costs, helping them stay warm during the harsh winter months. The donation will also support other groups in need.

Go Min-si has consistently participated in philanthropic activities through G Foundation. In 2020, she contributed to single-parent families, and in 2023, she donated 30 million KRW during Family Month to support children, teenagers, and single-parent households.

With her latest contribution, Go Min-si continues to champion causes for vulnerable communities, offering hope and warmth to those in need. Her heartfelt message of spreading kindness during the cold winter reflects her genuine concern for society's most vulnerable members.

Go Min-si expressed, "I hope this donation will be used to help elderly individuals living alone and other vulnerable groups during the winter. As the days get colder, I hope this support can help seniors have a warmer winter. I firmly believe that the care and solidarity of our society can bring significant changes to someone's daily life, which inspired me to make this contribution."

G Foundation's CEO, Park Chung-gwan, highlighted the importance of addressing elderly poverty, noting, "South Korea has the highest elderly poverty rate among OECD countries, with more than half of those aged 80 and above living in poverty. Winter is particularly harsh for the elderly, who struggle with living, health, and housing. Go Min-si's donation is not just financial support but also a call for societal attention to this pressing issue. We will do our best to deliver her warm intentions."
