"I hope everyone finds happiness." (Jin)

On the 15th, BTS’s Jin will release his first solo album, ‘Happy,’ at 2 p.m. KST worldwide. This album reflects his journey in search of happiness.

The album includes six tracks, with the title track ‘Running Wild,’ along with the pre-release track ‘I’ll Be There’ and the fan song ‘With Longing.’ Jin’s heartfelt sentiments resonate throughout the album, which also features ‘Another Level,’ ‘Until I Reach You,’ and ‘Heart on the Window.’

This album uniquely reflects Jin’s personal taste. Having been involved in the production process, he showcases his musical abilities, even writing the lyrics for the fan song, ‘With Longing.’

About this track, Jin shared, “I wrote down my honest feelings, like ‘The fans are waiting, I should be singing,’ and I hope these emotions reach them.”

Jin will also host a live broadcast on Weverse on the 15th to celebrate the album’s release and will hold a fan showcase, ‘Jin Happy Special Stage,’ on the 16th and 17th.

Q&A with Jin:

Q: How do you feel about releasing your first solo album, ‘Happy’?

First, it’s meaningful to release an album under my name, and I hope fans enjoy it. I also wish that everyone who listens to this album feels happier. I’ve put a lot of my preferences into this album, and I’d be delighted if people think, “This song is great” or “I want to hear it again.” (smiles)

Q: What should listeners focus on in ‘Happy’?

This album is based on band sounds, which I love. Band sounds are especially fun to hear live, so I’d recommend imagining how it would feel to hear these songs at a concert.

Q: What was your first impression of the title track ‘Running Wild’?

It brought back nostalgic memories. I hope listeners feel a sense of comfort and familiarity, so I chose ‘Running Wild’ as the title track.

Q: What was it like working with Gary Barlow from Take That, who produced part of the album?

I had to work on my pronunciation a lot during recording. There are some differences between American and British pronunciations, so it was a bit confusing. I recorded multiple takes to get it right, though admittedly, some of the issues were just down to my pronunciation! (laughs)

Q: What did you focus on when creating ‘I’ll Be There,’ which has a rockabilly style unfamiliar in Korea?

This song was designed for me from the start, so it wasn’t particularly challenging. However, I had to keep the “One, Two, Three, Four” line lively, and that took a few tries.

Q: Tell us about the fan song ‘With Longing’ and its lyrics.

When I was a recruit, I wrote down a few lines reflecting my feelings, like, “The fans are waiting, I should be singing, I should be performing.” This song is a reflection of those emotions, and I wanted to express my desire to return to the fans as soon as possible. I hope they feel this sentiment.

Q: What makes Jin ‘Happy’ these days?

I’ve been working on a lot of different activities lately. Seeing fans enjoy and feel happy about these makes me happy, too. It reminds me, “This is why I work.”
