"456 billion won, the game of innocence isn’t over yet."
On the 14th, Netflix released the main poster and press stills for the new series, "Squid Game" Season 2, hinting at an expanded storyline centered around Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae).
The main poster captures a brightly colored, maze-like setting reminiscent of Season 1, with participants dressed in the iconic green tracksuits, standing on intricate stairs that seem to stretch endlessly. The pink guards loom ominously, implying there’s no escape.
The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) also stands out. In a powerful image, he is shown unmasked amidst the pink guards, focusing intently on Gi-hun with a piercing gaze that stirs intrigue.
The press stills feature not only familiar faces from Season 1 but also new participants for Season 2. One image suggests Gi-hun encountering Jun-ho (played by Wi Ha-jun) outside the game arena.
Actor Im Si-wan appears as Participant 333, a former YouTuber who, after causing significant financial losses to his viewers through cryptocurrency investment, joins the game.
Yang Dong-geun and Kang Ae-sim appear as a mother-son duo. Yang plays Yong-sik, who enters the game to pay off gambling debts, while Kang portrays his mother, Geum-ja, who joins to protect her family, hinting at an emotional storyline.
Other characters include Lee Seo-hwan as Gi-hun’s friend Jung-bae, and Cho Yu-ri as Joon-hee, who lost a large sum to bad investment advice. Each character is anticipated to bring unique dynamics to the games.
Additionally, viewers can expect appearances from actors Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook, and Park Sung-hoon, promising to enhance "Squid Game 2" with rich storytelling and impressive acting.
"Squid Game" Season 2 follows Gi-hun, who returns to the game seeking revenge, facing off with the Front Man in an intense battle. The series premieres on December 26.
