Singers Sung Si-kyung, Cha Eun-woo, and actress Mun Kayoung will team up as MCs for the 39th Golden Disc Awards.
The Golden Disc Awards Secretariat announced on the 4th, "Sung Si-kyung, Cha Eun-woo, and Mun Kayoung will host the 39th Golden Disc Awards, which will take place at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan, on January 4-5, 2025."
All three will hold the MC mic for both days. Sung Si-kyung, who has been associated with the Golden Disc Awards as an MC for nine years, is expected to lead the ceremony smoothly once again with his mellifluous voice.
Cha Eun-woo returns as MC for the second consecutive year. Having first taken the Golden Disc stage as an MC rather than an awardee last year, Cha Eun-woo drew significant attention with his polished hosting skills and a special stage performed alongside senior MC Sung Si-kyung. Fans are eager to see what he brings to the 39th edition.
Mun Kayoung, joining as a new MC, is a highly anticipated addition to this year's Golden Disc. Known for her exceptional foreign language skills, Mun Kayoung is expected to connect with global K-pop fans. Her reunion with Cha Eun-woo, with whom she starred in the tvN drama True Beauty, as co-hosts is expected to draw fans' attention.
The 39th Golden Disc Awards will be held over two days, January 4 and 5, 2025, at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan. This will be the sixth time the event is held overseas, and the second time in Japan since the 26th Golden Disc Awards at Kyocera Dome in Osaka. The Digital Music Awards will take place on January 4, followed by the Album Awards on January 5.
Meanwhile, nominees for each category of the 39th Golden Disc Awards will be available on the official website and social media on December 2. The performance lineup will be revealed sequentially in early December.
