GOT7's leader and solo artist JAY B, who has been involved in privacy controversies, has completed his alternative military service and returns to civilian life today. According to his agency, M.O.S Company, JAY B concludes approximately one year and nine months of alternative service as a social service worker.
JAY B debuted in 2012 with the KBS2 drama *Dream High 2*, later joining the boy group GOT7 and fully launching his music career. After the expiration of GOT7’s exclusive contract, he continued as a solo artist. In February last year, JAY B released a special EP, *Seasonal Hiatus*, before fulfilling his mandatory service.
However, in May 2021, JAY B faced scrutiny when a livestream revealed his room with photos of a woman’s body displayed. He clarified, stating, “These are photos by a favorite artist. I apologize for them being visible in a setting with a wide-ranging audience and will be more cautious in the future.”
Additionally, during his service, JAY B found himself in controversy in July of last year. Reports surfaced that he had sent messages to a woman, known only as A, including, “What do you do on a regular basis?” and “I don’t have much to do since I’m in public service.” JAY B responded, explaining, “She initiated the DM, and I shared it privately with a few close friends. Someone then took screenshots and spread them. I no longer have any contact with her, and there’s no relationship between us.”
Following his return, JAY B plans to reconnect with fans on November 2 via a live broadcast on a global fandom platform to officially greet everyone again.
