The photo, taken during the filming of I, The Executioner, shows Jung departing from his usual gentle image, with his face covered in blood and a cold gaze, fully embodying his role as a villain.

In I, The Executioner, Jung takes on the role of Park Sun-woo, the youngest detective in the Violent Crimes Unit, marking his first attempt at playing an antagonist. The film follows Detective Seo Do-chul (played by Hwang Jung-min) as he hunts down a serial killer in an intense crime-action thriller that has garnered widespread popularity in theaters nationwide.

Through this role, Jung Hae-in breaks away from the romantic lead image he established in dramas like 'Something in the Rain' and 'Love Next Door', showcasing a new side of his acting.

Recently, Jung appeared on tvN's You Quiz on the Block, where he admitted to feeling "immense pressure" in his first villain role.

He revealed, "Since the character has narcissistic and sociopathic tendencies, I avoided meeting people. Even my parents found me unfamiliar." He also shared how the prolonged filming process deeply immersed him in the role, leading to feelings of isolation in his personal life.

Jung reflected on the honor of attending the Cannes Film Festival for I, The Executioner, saying, "Even now, it feels unreal. I tried to enjoy the moment and not feel nervous, but my hands were shaking so much that I had to keep them in my pockets."

During the broadcast, Jung also opened up about the struggles he faced early in his career. "As someone who has to stand in front of the camera and be evaluated by the public, it was terrifying. I found myself questioning, 'What am I doing?' and 'Why am I living?' I ended up becoming a recluse, rarely leaving my house."
