Byeon Wooseok and Karina Were Expected to Attend... 'Seongsu Prada Event' Ends Early Over Crowd Safety Concerns

The luxury brand Prada's event in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, was shut down early on the 24th due to overcrowding concerns. The local district office requested an immediate termination of the event.

According to Seongdong-gu on the 25th, the photo wall event celebrating "The Sound of Prada" was interrupted at around 9:30 PM on the 24th at Candy Seongsu. At the district's request, the event ended abruptly. As a result, several celebrities, including actor Byeon Wooseok and girl group member Karina, had to wait inside their vehicles in front of the venue before eventually leaving.

Jung Won-oh, the head of Seongdong District, shared on his social media account that morning, "Starting from 7 PM on the 24th, district officials monitored the situation on-site alongside the police and other relevant authorities. However, as concerns over safety risks due to overcrowding grew, we determined that the event could no longer continue and requested the organizers to end it voluntarily."

The event was initially set to feature numerous celebrities such as Byeon Wooseok and Karina. However, safety concerns arose as many fans gathered along the narrow streets outside the venue to catch a glimpse of the stars. The situation was further complicated by vehicles and lighting equipment, creating congestion. Due to these issues, some invited celebrities could not even leave their cars and had to remain in front of the venue.

Jung added, "The event location is close to a city bus depot and experiences heavy traffic during rush hours. After a meeting with the police and other agencies on-site, we requested the organizers to terminate the event voluntarily. Thanks to the organizers' swift decision to end the event, the situation was resolved without any casualties."

Meanwhile, Seongdong-gu has announced that it will operate a comprehensive on-site situation room from October 24th until 2 AM on November 1st to prevent crowd-related accidents ahead of Halloween. The district will also conduct intensified CCTV monitoring and joint patrols with private and public organizations.
