Aespa Takes Global Music Charts by Storm with 'Whiplash'
Aespa has captivated global music charts with their latest title track "Whiplash" from their 5th mini-album.
According to Spotify, Whiplash debuted at 53rd place on the platform's Daily Top Songs Global chart (as of October 21st). The song garnered 2,102,148 streams on its first day, demonstrating the group's strong digital presence. This achievement marks aespa's highest debut on the chart and the best debut ranking by any K-pop girl group this year.
What's even more impressive is that this success was achieved with only 15 hours of streaming data. aespa released Whiplash on October 21st at 6 p.m., and the song quickly surged to the top of global music charts.
Aespa's success extends beyond Spotify. Their new album topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 24 regions, including newly added countries like Colombia and Spain.
The group's popularity continues to soar in China and Japan. They claimed the top spot on Tencent Music's integrated K-pop chart, which covers five major streaming platforms, and also ranked first on Japan's Mora charts for new foreign songs and daily rankings.
Aespa will perform their comeback stage on Mnet's M Countdown on October 24th, marking their highly anticipated return to the stage.
