J-Hope posted, "Chef Lee Kyun, please do a tofu pop-up,"

BTS member J-Hope has publicly revealed himself as a passionate viewer of the Netflix variety show 'Culinary Class Wars’

On October 8th, J-Hope posted on the fan community platform Weverse, writing, "(Spoiler alert)... Chef Lee Kyun... Please do a tofu fine dining pop-up," along with a photo of Chef Edward Lee. "Lee Kyun" is the Korean name of Edward Lee.

On the same day, the final episode of the Netflix show The Devil's Plan: Culinary Hierarchy War was released. In the semifinals, Chef Edward Lee had to create a new dish every 30 minutes using tofu as the main ingredient under the theme "Infinite Cooking Hell.”

Despite facing several challenges, including jet lag from arriving the day before, being the oldest contestant, and using unfamiliar ingredients, Chef Edward Lee impressed everyone. He created a full course menu with tofu as the main ingredient, defeating six other chefs in the process and becoming a major talking point.

Edward Lee advanced to the final round, where he faced fierce competition against the "Napoli Mafia," who had already secured a spot in the finals. Despite his efforts, he narrowly missed out on victory, finishing in second place.

'Culinary Class Wars’ pits highly skilled "black spoon" chefs against famous "white spoon" chefs in Korea in a cooking competition.

Edward Lee competed on the "white spoon" team, and in the finals, he revealed his Korean name, "Lee Kyun" while expressing his deep philosophy and sincerity about Korean cuisine. His heartfelt presentation left a strong impression on the judges.

In the final round, Edward Lee captured the attention of viewers by presenting a tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) dessert instead of his usual fine dining dishes.

Edward Lee introduced his dish by saying, "I have an American name, Edward, but I also have a Korean name, kyun. This dish was made by Lee kyun," expressing his deep understanding of Korean food and culture, which earned praise from the judges.

J-Hope has publicly shown his enthusiasm for the show multiple times. On October 2, he posted on his personal account, saying, "It's October. These are very 'even' photos. See you on discharge day. Enjoy it." He referenced the popular phrase "even" from the show 'Culinary Class Wars’ and shared a screenshot of Chef Yoon Nam-no from the program.

Meanwhile, J-Hope enlisted in the military in April last year and is currently serving as an instructor at the 36th Infantry Division's recruit training center in Wonju, Gangwon Province. He is scheduled to be discharged on October 17.
