TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun has chewed up the music charts with his first mixtape.
Yeonjun released his mixtape “GGUM” on the 19th. By 9 a.m. on the 20th, the song had topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 32 countries and regions, including Japan, Brazil, the Philippines, and Russia.
In total, the song reached the top 10 in 40 countries and territories. It peaked at No. 1 and No. 2 on the Worldwide iTunes Songs and European iTunes Songs charts, respectively.
The music video has also been a hit. It reached #1 on YouTube Trending Worldwide. It was among the top trending videos in 28 countries/regions, including Chile (#3), Austria (#4), and Germany (#6).
Shortly after its release, it was the #1 live trending video on X (formerly Tweet) worldwide for the hashtag “gum”. It ranked No. 1 in Indonesia, No. 2 in the U.S., No. 4 in Japan, and No. 8 in South Korea.
Yeonjun was particularly prominent in the Japanese music market. “GGUM” reached the top of the ‘Song Top 100’ real-time chart on Line Music, a major local music site, shortly after its release.
“GGUM” is a song that compares her confidence and ambition on stage to chewing gum. Yeonjun was involved in the entire production of the song, including the material, lyrics, performance organization, and details.
Meanwhile, Yeonjun will be appearing on KBS-2TV's “Music Bank” at 5 p.m. today to perform a solo stage.
