Kim Ye-rim ('Red Velvet' Yeri) will take on her first big screen challenge.
On the 10th, her agency SM Entertainment announced, "Kim Ye-rim has been cast as the main character 'Park Ja-young' in the movie 'Next'. She has confirmed her appearance and has started filming."
'Next' is a mystery horror film. It depicts what happens when school friends gather to participate in a necromancy ritual to summon ghosts. It is the new work of rookie director Son Dong-wan.
In the film, 'Park Ja-young' is a character with a strong sense of responsibility. She participates in the necromancy ritual to find out the whereabouts of her missing older sister. When strange things start to happen, she struggles to save her colleagues and leads the play.
Kim Ye-rim has been loved by global fans for her various music activities as a member of Red Velvet. She has shown her presence as an actress through 'Mint Condition' and 'Blue Birthday'.
In particular, she was recognized for her stable acting skills through her recent work, 'Cheongdam International High School'. She also showed off her charismatic charm, raising expectations for her appearance in this film.
Kim Ye-rim said, "I was interested in the horror genre, and I'm glad to be able to take on this challenge this time. In particular, this is my first time appearing in a film since my debut, so I'm nervous but also excited."
