TWICE has declared war against the illegal distribution of deepfake videos.

On August 30th, JYP Entertainment stated, "There has been a spread of deepfake videos targeting our artists. We are taking this matter very seriously as it is a clear illegal act."

The company has announced a strong response. "We are currently gathering evidence," they said, adding, "With the help of a professional law firm, we are pursuing strong legal action with no leniency against those responsible for the deepfake videos."

There will be no settlements regarding illegal deepfake videos. JYP emphasized, "We will not tolerate any actions that infringe on our artists' rights and will respond firmly until the end."

Recently, there has been an increase in sexual crimes involving the creation of obscene content using women's faces, with female K-pop group members among the victims, including TWICE, Kwon Eunbi, and former Brave Girls member Yujeong.

Kwon Eunbi's agency has already filed a criminal complaint against those distributing altered obscene photos of her. "The first complaint has been submitted, and the police investigation is ongoing," they explained.

The agency also urged fans to report any malicious posts or clear criminal activities targeting their artists through official channels.

Yujeong expressed her distress on a program in February, revealing that she learned through an acquaintance that her photos had been used in deepfake content. "That photo is still circulating," she said.

"I felt really bad," she admitted, adding, "I believe this is not just my problem; it's a situation where any woman or man could be a victim."
