Jung Haein and Jung So Min, two actors from the tvN drama ‘Love Next Door’, have participated in a photo shoot with fashion magazine ‘Elle’.
The photos of Jung Haein and Jung So Min, released on the 16th, show a playful mood as if they were playing hide and seek. As the drama depicts the romance of childhood friends who grew up in the same neighbourhood and share a dark history, the two are friendly and adorable compared to each other.
After the photo shoot, an interview was held. When asked about genre expectations, Jung So-min said, 'People haven't seen Jung Haei's comedic side before, so I think there might be expectations of unexpectedness. I have more experience in romantic comedies, but on set, I relied a lot on Jung Haein. He also has a high sync rate with Seung Hyo's character.' Jung Haein also said, 'I'm not worried about looking like a cliché because I think the situation is funny rather than doing comedy myself. I want to create empathy through universal and everyday acting,' he said.
The two actors also explained the appeal of ‘Love Next Door. Jung So-min shared her love for the film, saying, ‘It's a film that I find a lot of comfort in while filming, and I hope that viewers will find similarities with themselves and gain strength by watching not only Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo, but also each character's story and the different ways they overcome it.’ Jung Haein agreed, saying, ‘The stories between each character, including the stories of the families, are very warm and healing, and the atmosphere on set is warm and caring, so if you watch the making-of film later, you'll probably see me smiling a lot.’
‘Mom's friend's son’ usually means someone who is perfect with no flaws. When asked what kind of person she envies, Jung So-min replied, ‘There are some people who are naturally determined, and I try a lot to look determined without showing my anxiety, so I envy the natural calmness of people who don't get hit unless it's something really big.’ Jung Haein echoed this sentiment, saying, ‘When I see people who work hard in their field and are recognised, I naturally feel respect for them, but I don't think envy is my driving force, it's more important that I feel happy, such as the fulfilment I get from my work and the small breaks I get in between.’
‘Love Next Door’, the reunion of director Yoo Je-won and writer Shin Ha-eun of ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Chaa’, is set to premiere on the 17th. Jung Haein and Jung So-min's photoshoot and interview will be available in the September issue of Elle and on Elle's website, and an interview film, ‘Chemistry Workshop,’ which captures their chemistry, will be released on Elle's YouTube channel.
