American grandfather Zev Latet (76), who became a hot topic as a fan of Korean dramas and IU, finally met IU.

Latet uploaded a photo on the 1st (Korean time) through his YouTube channel. The photo shows the Latet couple taking a commemorative photo with IU. IU drew a heart on her own, and the couple completed the heart above their heads with IU between them.

This meeting was made possible by IU's will to keep her promise. On the 30th of last month, the '2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN OAKLAND' was held, and IU invited Latet to this event.

Latet, who talked with IU for about 15 minutes after the concert, said that she was "graceful and pretty" and expressed his feelings about being enchanted by IU's kindness. He bragged about receiving a keychain, a bow tie, and a traditional Korean hairpin as gifts from IU.

After working as a software engineer for the past 30 years, he opened a YouTube channel introducing Korean dramas in February after retiring. Since then, he has expressed his love for Korean dramas and IU, and this news has spread to IU fans. With the help of IU fans, he joined the official fan club 'Uaena' and is nicknamed 'American Uaena Grandpa' among fans. It is known that he became a fan of IU through the tvN drama 'Hotel Del Luna' that aired in 2019.

Latte said, "I felt that the way Korean dramas express themselves and their perspectives on life were really refreshing," and "I was completely fascinated by learning about Korean culture." He continued, "I watch Korean dramas for 4-6 hours every day. Now, this is my new job." He also said, "I got my wife addicted to Korean dramas. It took him a year to get addicted to Korean dramas."
