Actors Yook Sungjae, Kim Jiyeon, and Kim Jihoon meet in a fantasy romantic comedy.
SBS-TV's new drama 'Ghost Palace' (written by Yoon Soo-jeong, directed by Yoon Seong-sik) is a fantasy romantic comedy about flesh. Yeo-ri, a shaman who rejects the fate of a medium, and Kang Cheol-i, an imoogi trapped in the body of her first love Yoon Gap, encounter Palcheok-gwi, who holds a grudge against the royal family, and her body and soul become tightly twisted.
Producer Yoon Seong-sik of ‘Queen Iron Man’, ‘You’re the Best Yi Sun-sin’, ‘Gaksital’, and ‘Daejoyeong’ took charge of directing. Writer Soo-jeong Yoon, who wrote ‘The King’s Face’ and ‘Go Go Go’, teamed up. Here, Yook Sungjae, Kim Jiyeon, and Kim Jihoon joined as lead roles.
Yook Sungjae played the role of ‘Yoon Gap’. Yoon Gap is a swordsman who wants to protect the palace that is in chaos due to Palcheokgwi's tricks. He is the shaman Yeo-ri’s first love. Yun Gap's body is taken over by the evil spirit Imoogi, who wanted to ascend to heaven using Yeo Ri's body.
Yook Sungjae unfolds a sweet and bloody romance entangled with spirits. He plans to show a variety of acting, from the grumpy Imoogi who hates humans to the face of a scholar with passionate loyalty.
Kim Ji-yeon takes on the role of shaman ‘Yeo-ri’. Yeo-ri rejects the fate of a medium. She is the only granddaughter of the famous Mansin and possesses outstanding spiritual skills. Her life becomes terribly twisted after she becomes entangled with an Imoogi who cannot become a dragon.
However, she becomes involved in unexpected events, starting with an incident where an Imoogi possesses the body of her first love, Yoon Gap. And finally, he sets foot in a palace filled with evil spirits and miscellaneous spirits with deep resentment.
In the process of defeating Palcheokgwi along with Marshal Lee Moogi of Cheolcheonji, Jiyeon Kim feels both strong attraction and confusion at the same time. She is expected to have an exciting and hateful romance with Yook Sungjae.
Kim Ji-hoon plays the role of King Lee Seong. Lee Seong is a reforming monarch who dreams of a strong Joseon Dynasty and confronts Palcheokgwi, who holds a grudge against the royal family. As ugly incidents continue to occur in the palace, he joins the hands of Yun-gap and the shaman Yeo-ri he brought with him to uncover the secret of the Palcheokgwi.
Kim Ji-hoon played the role of a king for the first time since his debut. He plans to add weight to the play with his strong charisma and aura. The unique bromance with Yoon Gap adds another layer of fun.
‘Ghost Palace’ is scheduled to air next year.
