Girl group Red Velvet's Irene will make her debut as a pitcher.

The LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) have selected Irene to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Jamsil home game against the SSG Landers on the 16th.

This will be Irene's first professional baseball pitch.

Irene has made one previous appearance at a Jamsil LG home game in 2016, and in 2018, she joined the line-up for a joint concert in Pyongyang at the request of the Blue House ahead of the opening ceremony, which was cancelled.
