Group NewJeans released the Korean version of their Japanese debut title song ‘Supernatural’.
NewJeans (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, Hyein) posted ‘Supernatural’ music video Part.2 on Hive Labels’ official channel at midnight on July 5th. This is the sequel to Part.1, which was released along with the music release on June 21.
In the music video Part.2, you can hear the Japanese singing part of ‘Supernatural’ with Korean lyrics. In addition, the storyline hidden in the music video Part.1 is expressed through NewJeans' unique ideas and speaking style, stimulating the viewer's imagination.
The supernatural phenomena that unfold around the members hint at the identity of NewJeans in the music video. Phrases such as ‘Breaking News: Increase in Unidentified Unusual Organisms’ that appear on the TV screen are meaningful. Global fans are enjoying the music video by coming up with various speculative interpretations based on these clues.
‘Supernatural’ continues to perform well on domestic and international charts, including in Japan and Korea.
The single ‘Supernatural’ ranked 4th in Japan’s Oricon’s latest weekly combined single ranking (as of July 8/counting period June 24-30) for two consecutive weeks.
The title song ‘Supernatural’ ranked 11th in the weekly streaming ranking and 15th in the weekly digital single ranking. Additionally, this song is ranked high on major Japanese music charts, including 16th in Spotify Japan’s ‘Daily Top Songs’ and 15th in Apple Music Japan’s ‘Top 100’ as of the 3rd.
The topicality of the Tokyo Dome fan meeting also led to a comeback on the domestic music charts. ‘Supernatural’ maintained its crown on the Bugs daily chart for two consecutive days (July 2-3), and soared to its highest ranking of 8th in Melon’s ‘Top 100’ (as of 10 p.m. on the 4th). The song ‘Right Now’ is also a huge success, ranking high on all charts.
NewJeans mobilized a total of 91,200 audiences to the Tokyo Dome fan meeting ‘Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome’ held on the 26th and 27th of last month.
While the members' solo stages are heating up online and continuing the lingering atmosphere of the fan meeting, NewJeans will appear on Nippon TV's 'THE MUSIC DAY 2024' on the 6th.
