New Jeans has shared their thoughts on their Japanese debut.
New Jeans will release their debut single "Supernatural" in Japan on the 21st at 1pm. In response, the agency released an interview with the members. They talked about their local activities and their love for the new song.
"We've been looking forward to our Japanese debut for a long time. We're really excited and happy. We feel like we're making a new chapter in Japan," and "We're excited to share our songs with the Bunnies(fandom) that we love."
The title track is "Supernatural," a New Jack Swing-style song. The ad-libs and bridge are taken from pop star Pharrell Williams' 2009 collaboration with Japanese singer Manami, Back Off My Mind.
New Jeans shared his love for the song. "It's a song you can't get out of your head once you hear it. The intro and Pharrell Williams' ad-libs are intense, and the synths and beats are ridiculously exciting," he said.
The performance is also promising. "We thought it was important to have a sense of togetherness. We tried to be in sync with the dancers," they said, adding, "We hope the audience will be excited as well."
The song "Right Now" has already been released as a music video. It features soft vocals that contrast with the fast beat. "It highlights our coolness and mature charm," New Jeans explained.
Earlier in the day, New Jeans appeared on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" live broadcast. They premiered their performance of "Supernatural. He delivered a lively energy with light steps and a free-spirited groove.
New Jeans will also appear on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi 8" and TV Asahi's "Music Station" on the same day. On the 22nd, the group will perform on Nippon TV's "with MUSIC", and on the 13th of next month on TBS's "Music Day 2024", among other local music broadcasts.
On the 26th and 27th, the group will hold a fan meeting at Tokyo Dome. They have prepared a setlist of over 20 songs. From the double single "How Sweet" to four Japanese debut singles, 12 previously released songs, and a special solo performance.
