The real Nayeon, Na "The album that made me grow"

If you enjoyed the refreshing summer with ‘Pop!’, this time it’s bold. It cools off the sweltering heat with its wild and irresistible charm.

Nayeon said, "'Pop' was a song that the public thought was Nayeon's. This time, I attempted a different transformation in the hope of showing a cool and grown-up side."

It was my first time seeing it. Early 2000s Y2K style. There is also an intense dance break section. We prepared a performance that had never been seen before from Twice.

Nayeon said, "Everything was a challenge. It was a good album that made me grow," and she hoped, "When her next solo comes out, I want to be labeled as an artist who is expected to come out at any time."

Nayeon attended the showcase for her 2nd mini album 'NA' held at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 13th. She conveyed the effort and passion she put into her solo album.

Nayeon's solo appearance in 2 years.. In June 2022, she became Twice's first solo artist with the 1st mini album 'I'm Nayeon' and the title song 'POP!'. Announced a successful start. It ranked 7th on the ‘Billboard 200’ and ranked at the top of major domestic music sites.

Nayeon confessed, "I felt a lot of pressure because it was the first album of her solo career among Twice's members," and "I never expected that people would like it so much. So, this album was a burden in another way."

She continued, "But I tried to prepare while enjoying it as much as possible. I think the focus is on group activities. I will cherish this period of my solo career and perform on stage," she said.

Compete with mature charm. The new album 'Na' is Nayeon's 'NA' and contains the lovely meaning of 'Only me!' Nayeon gives off the confidence to show herself.

Nayeon pointed out, "The previous album was Nayeon's album in the public's opinion. This time, I wanted to show her cool side and her grown side. Please pay attention to the powerful and bold parts."

The title song 'ABCD' features lyrics using the alphabet. 'It's a song that seduces someone who is my type from A to Z. She tells you everything from start to finish and conveys her captivating confidence that she will make it her own.

Jinyoung Park was in charge of producing. Added modern elements to hip hop. It reminded me of the pop divas of the early 2000s. The highlight is the tense arrangement changes.

Nayeon explained, "Producer Park Jin-young advised me to watch a lot of videos of pop artists from that era," and that she "got a lot of inspiration from watching live videos and music videos."

The styling also brought out the Y2K sensibility. Cap hat, cropped tee, loose cargo pants, etc. Nayeon said, "I wanted to capitalize on the atmosphere of this song. I thought hip and street styling would suit it. I suggested that we make that the main focus."

I also built a strong body through exercise. Nayeon recalled that “Producer Park Jin-young said he wanted me to look healthy,” and that she “worked out almost every day whenever I had time.”

The part I paid most attention to was performance. A style we've never seen from Twice. They showed off girlish yet dynamic choreography. Nayeon said "worked hard because I wanted to show the performance properly."

“Because it was a style I had never tried before, I worried a lot about how I could do well. There were moments when I felt frustrated, thinking, ‘I guess I can’t do it.’ This is an album that grew through that process.”

He has also collaborated with various singers. The track 'Magic' was featured by 'Kiss of Life' Julie. 'Halligali' was produced by 'Akmu' Lee Chan-hyuk. Sam Kim wrote, composed and featured in 'Haven'. Sole was in charge of writing the lyrics for ‘Count It’.

Nayeon confessed, "I've always liked Sam Kim, but the company recommended it, so I asked for it. I had my eyes set on Julie and Chanhyuk because I wanted to join them in this activity."

What would be the score for this album? "If I give myself a score, I don't think I can give myself a generous score," Nayeon said. "I think I can give more than 80 points because I did my best in this album."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of TWICE's debut. They will perform at Nissan Stadium in Japan next month for the first time as a K-pop girl group. They are continuing to break their career high even in their 10th year.

Regarding the secret to TWICE's long-lasting activities, She expressed her sincerity, saying, "All nine of us have great affection for the TWICE team. I think we can continue to perform for a long time because of that heart."

Most of all, it was possible because of ONCE (Fandom name). Nayeon added, "We've been promoting for a long time, but we have fans who support us for that long, so we work harder."

Lastly, solo singer Nayeon expressed her wish.

She said, "I want to be considered an artist who is always expected to come out. And she always performed with 100% tension, but in 10 years, I want to become a singer who fully enjoys it."

Meanwhile, Nayeon will release her new album on her main music site at 1pm on the 14th.
