'DKZ's' Jae-chan has announced his role in MBC-TV's new Friday night drama "Bitter Sweet Hell". 

"Bitter Sweet Hell" is a slice-of-life comic thriller. It tells the story of Noh Young-won (played by Kim Hee-sun), a top family psychological counselor, who is blackmailed and works with her mother-in-law, a mystery novel writer.

Jae-chan appears in the movie as Choi Do-hyun, the son of Kim Hee-sun and Kim Nam-hee (played by Choi Jae-jin). He's a boy with good looks, excellent grades, a mature sense of responsibility, and a polite manner.

He steadfastly goes through the tight schedule made by his mother. He's the perfect son you wouldn't be ashamed of. 

But there's a twist. Do-hyun has a heavy secret that he can't tell anyone in his family. To hide it, Do-hyun plans to run away from home. 

Jae-chan has been acting in various web dramas. In "Bitter Sweet Hell," he will play a critical role.

Jae-Chan said, "The script was exciting and fun to read. After I finished reading the previous episode's script, I couldn't wait for the next one to come out," he said.

As for Choi Do-hyun's character, he explains, "I found him to be more honest than I thought," and says, "I tried not to complicate my thoughts when acting."

"When I was given a situation, I thought most about, 'What kind of expression would Do-hyun make, what kind of words and actions would he use to deal with the situation?

Despite being in his 20s, he wore a school uniform. "When I looked in the mirror in my uniform after a long time, I was relieved to see that I could still look like a high school student," he laughs.

Jae-chan added, "Do-hyun is an excellent student. He neatly is dressed in a uniform with a tie, jacket, and vest. We also tried to keep his hair neat," he adds.

"I was nervous to work with seniors, but everyone took good care of me. I was so grateful," he smiles.

"Kim Hee-sun brought us chocolates. Kim Nam-hee called me 'son' at dinner after my first script reading."

The producers of "Bitter Sweet Hell" praised Jae Chan, saying, "He is an actor who thoroughly studies acting."

The producers said, "Jae-chan showed characterization, explosive passion, and solid acting skills that are not typical of a rookie," and added, "He is the energizer for "Bitter Sweet Hell." Please look forward to it." 

"Bitter Sweet Hell" premieres on March 24 at 9:50 p.m.
