ILLIT, "Proud Of Belift Lab And Thank You, HYBE"

ILLIT expressed their gratitude to their agency amidst the controversy between HYBE and Ador.

On the 24th, ILLIT participated as a guest on SBS Power FM's 'Cultwo Show.' Four members, Yunah, Minju, Moka, and Wonhee attended the show. Member Iroha is currently in Japan for personal reasons.

ILLIT opened the show with their signature cheerful greeting. "Iroha had a personal schedule due to school issues, so she couldn't come," Yunah explained, referring to Iroha's absence.

When asked about the meaning behind the group's name, Moka said, "It combines the words 'I Will' of independence and with a pronoun 'It' meaning special, so it means that we can be anything and are looking forward to becoming anything." "I've been learning Korean for two years. However, since our debut, I've been introducing our team a lot, so I'm familiar with it."

When asked how it felt to be a super rookie with the honor of being the number one on music broadcasts just eight days after their debut, Younah said, "I'm especially grateful to the members of the company," and added, "I know that staffs of Belift Lab did their best to make our debut album. It's an unchangeable fact, and I'm proud of them."

"We may not say thank you often, but I think they know how we feel," Younah added, "We are also grateful to HYBE for believing in us and supporting us."

The show was the first official schedule for ILLIT since the recent infighting between HYBE and its label, Ador, surfaced. Earlier, Min Hee-jin, the CEO of Hive's label, Belift Lab, had been criticized for "copying New Jeans," referring to the artist as "Min Hee-jin-style," and "a child of New Jeans."

Meanwhile, ILLIT is a rookie girl group under HYBE's Belift Lab that debuted in March. With their debut song "Magnetic," the group took the top spot on music broadcasts within eight days of their debut, as well as topping various music sites. Not only in Korea, but also in the U.S. Billboard and Japan's Oricon latest weekly charts, they are proving their topicality with outstanding performances.
