Jang Won-young Wins Lawsuit Against 'Taldeok Suyongso'..."No Settlement, Will Go Until the End"

On the 17th, Starship Entertainment provided an update on legal actions related to artists' rights infringement. It was revealed that they are currently in the process of suing a cyber wrecker, "Taldeok Suyongso."

Civil, criminal, and international lawsuits are underway. Since November 2022, the agency has been pursuing legal action against the "Taldeok Suyongso" in civil and criminal court to hold them accountable.

A total of two civil lawsuits have been filed, with one scheduled for argument in January. In the case directly initiated by artist Jang Won-young, Taldeok Suyongso did not respond, resulting in a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff.

An official stated, "The Taldeok Suyongso has continuously harassed artists, causing serious distress. They spread false information, causing significant damage to reputation, and also interfered with business."

Criminal charges have also been filed. The agency stated, "The case has recently been referred from the police to the prosecutor's office, and it is an ongoing matter. No legal judgment has been reached at this time."

They added, "We will provide updates after the legal judgment is concluded. After the legal process, we will take all possible legal measures without further agreement, addressing artists' defamation and additional cases of harm."

The agency urged for tips, saying, "Information and reports from our fans greatly assist in our legal preparation and response. We request continuous reporting."

We would like to provide information on the current status of legal actions regarding the infringement of the rights of our artists associated with Starship Entertainment.

Since November 2022, we have been pursuing civil, criminal, and international lawsuits against the "Taldeok Suyongso," which has persistently harassed our affiliated artists. The "Taldeok Suyongso" has engaged in continuous dissemination of false information, causing severe damage to the reputation of our artists, disrupting our business operations, and inflicting serious pain on our artists and fans. Through the ongoing legal proceedings, we are making every effort to hold the "Taldeok Suyongso" accountable for their actions in civil and criminal court.

Regarding the criminal charges filed against the "Taldeok Suyongso," the case has recently been forwarded from the police to the prosecutor's office. We are awaiting a rigorous legal judgment, but at this stage, it is inferred that there has been no conclusive judicial decision. Separately, there are two civil lawsuits filed against the "Taldeok Suyongso." One of these civil suits, initiated by us, is scheduled for arguments in January, and in another initiated by artist Jang Won-young, a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff was rendered as the opposing party did not respond. We plan to communicate our official stance once all legal judgments are concluded.
