Singer Kwon Eun-bi is making her debut as an actress, challenging screen acting in a Japanese film.
On the 7th, Woolim Entertainment announced, "Kwon Eun-bi has been cast as the female lead in the Japanese film 'Unlocked~Final Hacking Game (hereafter 'Final Hacking Game')."
It is the final installment in the series based on the mystery novel of the same name by author Shiga Akira. The first film released in 2018 surpassed 1.5 million viewers, and the sequel released in 2020 sold 900,000 tickets.
The series gained global popularity and was adapted into a film in Korea, which was released on Netflix in February with actors such as Chun Woo-hee, Lim Si-wan, and Kim Hee-won. A remake is also in preparation in China.
Kwon Eun-bi will play the role of 'Sumin,' a beautiful woman with mysterious black hair surrounded by enigmas. Director Nakata Hideo commented, "Kwon Eun-bi showed excellent emotional expression and dynamic body language in Japanese."
A teaser video has also been released, featuring an intense chase. It captures Sumin, who is threatened in Seoul, along with the serial killer Urano (played by Ryo Narita) and detective Kagaya (played by Yudai Chiba).
Kwon Eun-bi's screen debut, 'Final Hacking Game,' is scheduled to be released in Japan in the fall of 2024.
