Singer IU and actress Han Ji-min have received commendations on "Financial Day" for their contributions to the development of the finance sector.

On the 24th, the Financial Services Commission held the 8th Financial Day ceremony at the 63 Convention Center in Yeouido, Seoul. A total of 191 individuals, including IU and Han Ji-min, were recognized with commendations.

First, IU received the President's Commendation. She was highly praised for promoting a healthy culture of wealth formation through consistent savings and investments and for exerting a positive influence through her ongoing charitable activities.

Han Ji-min was selected as a recipient of the Prime Minister's Commendation. Her dedication to responsible asset management has helped spread awareness of healthy financial practices, and her contributions through philanthropy and volunteer work were acknowledged.

Financial Services Commission Chairman Kim Joo-hyun stated, "The meaning of finance has expanded from being a 'duty' of debtors to the 'realization of opportunities.' It will further expand through 'integration and inclusion' in the future." 

He promised, "Through the efforts of the awardees and many others, our finance sector is evolving. The government will also strive to grow as a partner that empowers the people through finance."

"Financial Day" is a designated legal holiday aimed at raising public understanding of finance and encouraging those in the financial sector.
