SF9's Rowoon is embarking on a full-fledged acting career, and SF9 is transitioning from a 9-member to an 8-member group.

FNC Entertainment announced on the 18th that SF9 has renewed their contracts. SF9 debuted in 2016 and has been active for seven years. Their first contract had come to an end, and all the other members have already renewed their contracts with FNC, except for Rowoon.

However, Rowoon will be leaving the group. The agency stated, "SF9 plans to take a leap forward once again as an 8-member group, excluding Rowoon," and added, "Rowoon will focus on personal activities, including acting."

The agency also reassured fans by saying, "Rowoon may be heading in a different direction, but he will always remain the 9th member of SF9," and promised, "The remaining eight members will support each other and do their best on their respective paths."

Rowoon conveyed his feelings in a heartfelt handwritten letter. He cautiously mentioned the challenges he faced, saying, "While actively engaging in various activities and taking on new challenges, I have become more strict with myself." 

He also alluded to the difficulties of balancing activities with both SF9 and his acting career, leading to misunderstandings and concerns among fans.

He expressed his regrets, saying, "There were times when I couldn't explain and clear up every misunderstanding, and I felt frustrated. I thought that someday, my sincerity would come across, so I focused on what I had to do immediately." 

Rowoon also apologized to fans who may have been hurt by his lax attitude, saying, "If there are fans who were hurt or disappointed by my careless demeanor, I'm truly sorry."

He talked about his new challenges, saying, "I'm turning 27 this year, and I want to try something new. Please watch over Kim Seokwoo (Rowoon's real name) at 27, and help me lead a life that I can take responsibility for."

He assured fans that he would remain the same person they remember, saying, "I am sincerely grateful to all of you. Please keep an affectionate eye on me."

Meanwhile, Rowoon is currently appearing in the JTBC drama "Destined With You." SF9 is set to hold a fan concert at the Olympic Park Olympic Hall in Seoul on October 9th.
