Singer and actress Suzy will be promoting the beauty of the Korean traditional costume, Hanbok, on a global scale.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will be launching a project titled ‘Hanbok Hallyu Collaboration Content Planning and Development’, in collaboration with the Korean Craft and Design Cultural Promotion Institute.
Various Hanbok designers and cultural artists will collaborate to promote the tradition and beauty of hanbok to the world, as well as providing support for overseas expansion.
Suzy will take the lead in promotion as she will feature in a fashion film with plans to project it on the Times Square billboard in New York, USA.
She will also directly participate in designing and creating a one-of-a-kind design Hanbok, adding personal touches.
An official from the Korean Craft and Design Cultural Promotion Institute stated, "Our goal is to develop trendy and approachable Hanbok designs that can be recognized in the international market, ranging from everyday Hanbok to modern reinterpretations." The official added, "We hope to promote the diverse aspects and fascinations of Hanbok, just like Suzy herself, who is a multi-player in various fields.”
In the meantime, Suzy has recently confirmed her role in an upcoming romantic comedy drama written by Kim Eun-Sook, ‘Everything Will Come True’ (working title), with co-star Kim Woo-Bin.
